Judicial Family Programs: Georgia

Georgia has been at the forefront of educating members of judges' households about ethics, stress management, and other features of public life. Typically spouses and guests are encouraged to sit in on programs planned for judges. Georgia links to the Judicial Family Institute (JFI) website via their "Judicial Branch of Georgia Administrative Office of the Courts" Links.

Chief Justice Leah Ward Sears and her spouse Haskell Ward value the work of the Judicial Family Institute. Haskell sometimes serves as a JFI Advisor. Retired Chief Justice Norman Fletcher served on a former JFI Board of Directors before becoming Chief Justice. Spouses of several Supreme Court Justices graciously welcomed spouses and guests to an early national program on judicial family ethics presented by the American Judicature Society during an American Bar Association meeting.
